Key Advantages at a Glance

1. Four-Edge Barb Distribution — Barbs on all four edges for higher needling efficiency per puncture

2. Balanced MD/CD Strength — More uniform longitudinal-to-cross-direction tensile strength ratio

3. High Entanglement Rate — Each puncture achieves maximum fiber interlocking

4. Minimal Fiber Damage — Optimized barb geometry protects fiber integrity

5. Parallel Working Section — Consistent cross-section from tip to taper for uniform performance

6. Equal-Size Barbs — All barbs are identically sized for predictable, repeatable results

7. High Carbon Steel Construction — Precision heat-treated for durability and wear resistance

8. Multiple Barb Styles — F, G, B, GB, L, K types available for different fiber and fabric requirements

Design & Construction

Our cross star needles are precision-manufactured from high carbon steel with a bright nickel-white finish. Each needle is engineered with the following structural features:

1. Regular Four-Pointed Star Working Section — The working area resembles an equilateral four-pointed star in cross-section, providing four distinct edges for barb placement. This geometry increases the total number of barbs engaging the fiber web per needle stroke compared to conventional triangular needles.

2. Parallel Working Section — From the needle tip to the beginning of the taper region, the working section remains parallel with a consistent cross-sectional dimension. This ensures uniform penetration and fiber engagement throughout the entire working length.

3. Equal-Size Barbs on Four Edges — All barbs along the four edges are of identical size. The most common configuration is one or two barbs per edge, providing balanced fiber entanglement without excessive fiber damage.

4. Available Barb Styles — Choose from a range of barb types to match your specific application:

(1) Type F — Good penetration and fiber carry; generally used for pre-piercing

(2) Type G — Less damage to fibers

(3) Type B — Less damage to fibers

(4) Type GB — More wear-resistant during use

(5) Type L — Based on Type B with more rounded hook teeth

(6) Type K (Open Style) — Delivers better fiber carry quantity

5. Barb Spacing Options — Available in regular, medium, close, frequent, and single spacing configurations to control needling density and surface finish.
